This vacation will make you forget about all the horrors of the work routine you got sucked into. Here are some suggestions on how to spend this amazing vacation of yours. Keep reading our Tahiti Travel Guide…
Diving and Snorkeling
If you would like to see the breathtaking wonders of the sea world, you can find them anywhere in Polynesia. However, if I were asked to single out one place in particular, it would be Tiputa Pass in Rangiroa, Tuamotu Islands. Apart from seeing a huge variety of colors, you will have a chance to observe grey reef sharks, dolphins, tuna and other inhabitants of the sea.
Also, don’t forget to bring an underwater camera as this will be a great opportunity to make some breathtaking photos. The water is so clear here that the photos will look simply amazing!
Surfing
Another water-related activity to do here is surfing. If you are an adventurous type and you’d like to test Tahiti’s waters, go ahead. Surfing season practically never stops here, so whenever you visit, you’ll have a chance to surf. The Teahupoo region is one of the most popular ones. It has seven surfing spots within close distance, so at least one of them is guaranteed to provide you with the perfect waves.
Accommodation
Tahiti is full of lavish hotels you can stay at and have a wonderful time. From the exquisite InterContinental in Moorea, to the Sofitel Private Island and Four Seasons Bora Bora, there are plenty to choose from and something for everyone!
Waterfall Valleys
One of the things you probably didn’t know about Tahiti is that it’s also rich in stunning valleys with sky-high waterfalls. You can get a guided tour, or explore on your own if you are more of an adventurer. In any case, it’s quite a walk, but you can always freshen up under a waterfall when it gets too hot.
Whale-Watching
This is an amazing and unique experience you’ll remember your whole life. However, be careful when choosing the time of your vacation. Whales start arriving in June, but if you want to make sure that you don’t miss out on seeing these magnificent creatures, don’t go until mid-August. The season lasts until the end of October, although, it can sometimes last until December.
Pearl Farms
We also visited the Huahine Pearl Farm and absolutely loved it. We had a great tour guide who told us all about the cultivation of oysters and pearls. It’s also a great chance to buy some amazing souvenirs.
These were some suggestions on how to spend your ideal vacation in French Polynesia. For many people, this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip, so you should try to do it right and without any regrets. Pay attention to what you want to see and do, and the time of the year you decide to go there and organize your trip the way you want to. Try to make the most of it but don’t forget to dedicate some time to relaxing at the beach.
