This June, glamorous social salon Greater China Club in Hong Kong will be welcoming renowned Hangzhou Chef Shi Jun at its applauded Cantonese dining room, Man Hing, inviting prestigious members and guests for an exclusive culinary showcase from 19 June to 4 July 2017.
With over 23 years of Hangzhou cuisine experience, Chef Shi is an expert at the culinary art. Headlining the menu are a list of alluring appetisers, including Marinated Lotus Root in Homemade Sauce (HK$78), and Stewed Duck in Homemade Sauce (HK$98).
Special highlights on the menu include savoury Deep-Fried Shrimps with Honey and Mustard Sauce (HK$258), Braised Sliced Pork Belly with Dried Bamboo and Chinese Cabbage (HK$98 per person), Wok-fried Cod Fish Fillets with Preserved Chili (HK$298), and Braised Boneless Duck Stuffed with Glutinous Rice and Eight Delicacies (HK$288).
Hangzhou cuisine has been dubbed by many as “The next big thing” in the Chinese culinary scene. Being a branch of Zhejiang cuisine- one of the Eight Great Cuisines of China, it has a variety of exceptional dishes to offer.
Aside from the astounding flavors Hangzhou cuisine puts out, it is also renowned for its freshness and sweetness as most of the ingredients used are directly and exclusively from the famous West Lake nearby, such as lotus root and the West Lake Carp.
Open to the public, Greater China Club also offers Corporate and Individual memberships entitling members to special priced menus, waived service charges and exclusive benefits, priced HK$18,888 for corporate membership with 3 nominees and HK$6,888 for individual members. Monthly membership fees (which can be used for spending in the Club) are HK$600 and HK$300, respectively.
