Linley and Decca Luxe Release The Ultimate Gift For Pavarotti Fans

Just over a decade since the great Maestro passed away, British Bespoke Furniture Designers Linley, and wife of the late Maestro Pavarotti, Nicoletta Pavarotti, have teamed up with Decca Luxe to create a piece of history. They have created a Linley designed and made painting box in homage of the opera singer, who unbeknownst to many spent his life not only singing, but painting too. Pavarotti was a passionate painter and art-aficionado so much so, he even exhibited a collection of his own works in 1986 in New York. And so it is fitting that his wife has partnered with Linley and Decca Luxe (part of Decca Records, of whom Pavarotti was signed) to produce something so beautiful and befitting in his honor.

Available worldwide, the stunning art case is decorated in handcrafted marquetry, in homage to the tenor’s colourful painting of Venice. At the heart of the set: a specially-built music player containing new restorations of Pavarotti’s most celebrated vocal performances.

The cost of the painting box is £70,000 +VAT and part of the profits go to the Pavarotti foundation which aims to  keep alive Maestro’s memory through the organization of extensive international events, as well as support talented young singers eager to move the very first steps in the opera world.

Incorporated into the box are Pavarotti’s own works of art, a personal letter from Nicoletta and seventeen iconic Pavarotti albums have been captured from original tapes as pristine DSD audio, whose sound quality is sixty-four times superior to a CD. Pavarotti’s entire recordings with Decca, totalling 130 hours, complete the collection. They are stored on a portable music player which can be used at home, in-car and on the go. The player revives Decca’s pedigree in audio technology – a heritage that includes pioneering inventions such as Full Frequency Stereophonic Sound and the celebrated Decca Tree.

The art case’s exterior, inspired by the drape and weave of an opera curtain, is crafted from fume figured eucalyptus and features the score from ‘Nessun Dorma’ – the aria that brought Pavarotti worldwide recognition as the theme for the 1990 World Cup in Italy. Inside, rare prints of Pavarotti’s unseen paintings act as inspiration. Manuscript paper, brushes and oil paints selected to match the tenor’s palette invite artistic inspiration. And a personalised note from the Pavarotti family awaits.

Decca Luxe reasserts the value of music as an art form, creating bespoke experiences and limited edition objets d’art for devotees and collectors around the world. The ‘Masterpieces’ are a new class of collectible, uniting the disciplines of artisan craft, visual arts and music – the sense of touch, sight and hearing.

This fine Pavarotti art case is available to purchase now, and really is the ultimate special gift for a Maestro Pavarotti fan. There are only 10 available, so get in touch with Linley today to order your Pavarotti Box.
