Jubilee Celebrations in London: The Dilly’s Jubilee Picnic Hampers

Luxury London hotel The Dilly has revealed how they are celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Executive Chef Stevel Ger has created a handcrafted chocolate-based Jubilee dessert while Bar Manager Marco Matesi was inspired by the Queen’s favourite tipple of gin and dubonnet to create the “Queen’s Favourite” cocktail. The Dilly is also offering the ultimate British experience of a bespoke picnic hamper to be enjoyed in one of London’s Royal Parks.

The Jubilee Dessert

Available from May 23rd to June 12th 2022 at Terrace at The Dilly, the hotel’s restaurant which offers guests a botanical oasis under the domed glass roof. The handmade dessert is crafted using chocolate Jivara mousse with a Manjari chocolate cremeux, and a raspberry coulis centre resting on top of a chocolate hazelnut base. The mousse and cremeux is covered in a white chocolate glaze and topped with a handcrafted golden chocolate crown.

The Jubilee Cocktail: “Queen’s Favourite”

Available from 1st – 5th June and 8th -12th June at Downstairs at The Dilly (open Wed-Sun), the newly launched speakeasy piano cocktail bar at The Dilly.

· Her Majesty’s favourite cocktail is said to be “The Dubonnet” which includes gin and dubonnet (a fortified wine with a hint of quinine). Downstairs at the Dilly is excited to celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee with a twist on this classic cocktail using Hendrick’s gin mixed with Londinio sweet vermouth infused with fresh red berry, Tio Pepe Sherry, and Franklin&Sons Rhubarb Tonic.

The Jubilee Picnic Hampers

Guests can order a bespoke picnic hamper at either Terrace at the Dilly or the hotel’s front desk. The beautiful wicker picnic hamper complete with a large picnic blanket will be delivered to the front desk and secured for guests on the back of The Dilly bicycles. The Royal Parks – Green Park, Hyde Park and St James’s Park are all few minutes’ cycle from The Dilly.

Picnic hampers available from The Dilly, pre-order is recommended and walk in hamper takeaways will be available upon availability.
