A popular pan-Asian restaurant on the corner of Blenheim Crescent in Notting Hill, Will Ricker’s E&O doesn’t disappoint. A modern, trendy restaurant with a bar with dark moody lighting that does decent cocktails, it’s the ideal place for a date or meal out with friends. The restaurant menu is simple but varied, with a good mix of sushi, dim sum, heartier dishes, and tempura.
E&O’s Exceptional Pan-Asian Food
We decided on the Crispy Pork Belly with Black Vinegar, Spicy Tuna Roll, Aubergine and Courgette Tempura, Prawn Tempura, and Singapore Noodles and Green Fried Brown Rice on the side. The portions were larger than we thought they would be, so filled us up completely to the point we couldn’t finish it all.
The Crispy Pork Belly was cooked to perfection: not overly crispy that you broke your teeth on it, but just crispy enough to get a nice ‘snap’ of the outer fat of the belly. We thoroughly enjoyed the Spicy Tuna Roll – it had a nice kick to it without the spice being overpowering. Moving onto the tempura we found it was delicate and light and not too salty like tempura can often be, while the Singapore noodles were full of flavours, but really quite spicy. Overall the food was excellent and it will definitely be a restaurant we return to. To accompany the food we enjoyed wine and rather potent cocktails – they definitely didn’t skimp on the alcohol!
To finish we chose Orange and Almond Pudding with Ginger Ice-cream, and the Chocolate Pudding, both were exceptionally good. The orange and almond pudding was moist and the orange and almond flavours worked magnificently together. Whilst I was quite full from the main course, the dessert thankfully wasn’t too filling and the flavours made it quite refreshing.
