Dolce & Gabbana have promised the ‘most luxurious Christmas yet’ with their fantastically ‘extra’ limited edition dessert. The fashion heavyweights are turning up the luxury this Christmas, announcing the return of their legendary luxury Panettone for Christmas 2023. Like 2021 and 2022, the eye-catching tins are all wearing designs by Sicilian artists and are sure to impress at any dinner party or social gathering and each cake also comes with a limited-edition Dolce & Gabbana gift bag.
Expressly designed by the most famous Sicilian artisans, these brightly coloured and illustrated boxes are inspired by the decorative motifs of Sicilian carts and the characters of the traditional puppet theatres, rendering them precious objects to collect. Having partnered with Sicilian dessert dynasty Fiasconaro, the traditional Italian Christmas cake comes in unique flavours:
- Sicilian Almond (1kg)
- Agli Agrumi & Zafferano (100g, 500g or 1kg)
- Vino Perpetuo Samperi (1kg)
And for 2023 they’re adding a new flavour, the sumptuous Chocolate Panettone.
The Flavours of Dolce & Gabbana Panettone
An artisanal product that combines a stylish design with that of pastry; the collection of panettoni began with two exclusive variations: one 1kg and 600g Sicilian Pistachio panettone covered in white chocolate (with a velvety Pistachio cream in a special jar); and one with Sicilian Citrus fruits and Saffron, available in 1kg, 500g and 100g sizes. One year later, the collaboration between Fiasconaro and Dolce&Gabbana renewed itself to create two extraordinary new 1kg panettoni: the panettone with Candied Chestnuts and Gianduja and the traditional panettone with Sicilian Vecchio Samperi Perpetual Wine.
The latter has an even more memorable sensory experience as the notes of candied orange and raisins are accentuated with Vecchio Samperi, one of the emblems of the winemaking tradition of Marsala. Presented in a glass bottle with nebulizer, the Vecchio Samperi completes this extraordinary journey into flavour with a new ritual: by adding a few drops of the wine onto your slice of panettone. Both recipes once again blend the Christmas symbol of Northern Italian confectionery dessert with the ingredients and flavours of the South.
Each cake is handmade in Sicily
And who doesn’t love Christmas cake? Everyone does, especially this year, according to the official import specialists from Fratelli Camisa, who bring the finest selections of authentic Italian food to the UK…
“There’s been a huge wave of orders for panettone placed within the last two-three weeks. Some production lines have already reached their capacity for the year, so we encourage customers to put their orders in early to avoid missing out.”
Each Dolce & Gabbana cake is handmade in Sicily and uses a range of local ingredients, from citrus fruits and saffron, to almonds and Sicilian Vecchio Samperi perpetual wine. Prices start at £32 for the 500g ‘Fiasconaro Dolce & Gabbana Agli Agrumi & Zafferano Panettone Gift Tin’ and top off at £65 for the mega 1kg ‘Fiasconaro Dolce & Gabbana Panettone Vino Perpetuo Samperi tin’.
