As London basks in one of its longest sun soaked summers in recent memory the Bloomsbury Club bar has transformed its secluded outside bohemian space into a Diplomatico Palm Terrace.
Located in London’s Bloomsbury area, close to Tottenham Court Road, the seductive, palm-decked sanctuary offers guests a bespoke selection of sophisticated tropical inspired Diplomático cocktails.
Carefully created by Bloomsbury Club Bar Manager Brian Calleja, offerings range from Diplomático Mantuano, an extraordinary blend of rums aged for up to eight years in white oak casks that were previously used to age bourbon and malt whiskies. Diplomático Planas, an elegant and rich blend of rums aged for up to six years and the Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva, an elegant and complex sipping rum distilled in ancient copper pot stills and aged for up to twelve years.
Inspired by a voyage of discovery to the Americas in the 1930’s, you will be transported through a palm leafed canopy to discover a fern-lined cocktail terrace complete with its own Diplomático bar and vintage traveller artefacts.
Greeted with a complimentary iced Diplomático Planas Daiquiri upon arrival guests are encouraged to peruse the selection of contemporary and sustainably considered cocktails that draw on Don the Beachcomber (the founding father of Tiki) and his travels in the Caribbean and South Pacific back in 1930’s.
With live music resonating throughout the alcoves of the seductive and atmospheric Palm Terrace space, bespoke bar bites provide the perfect accoutrement to some of the Caribbean and America’s finest spirit combinations. From a Ron Y Cola with its Diplomático Planas, Reduction of Cola and Vanilla Syrup, Lime and Prosecco to the Mango Botucal, a fruity and herbal variation of the ‘El Presidente’ cocktail, every element of the Diplomático Rum menu has been crafted to deliver a sophisticated tropical tasting experience.
Open for evening cocktails during the week, The Palm Terrace also hosts Saturday brunch DJ sessions with acclaimed vinyl DJ Sam Frankl playing his personal mix of Latin, Bossa and High Life.
