Bremont Launches Limited Edition Waterman Watch

Bremont Waterman Watch Limited Edition

Award-winning British luxury watch brand Bremont has added another exciting watch to its already impressive collection of timepieces – the Limited Edition ‘Bremont Waterman’.

Restricted to an exclusive 300 pieces, the Bremont Waterman is a striking and remarkably technical dive watch. Incorporating a GMT hand and featuring a deep-blue applied index on the dial, the Bremont Waterman uses the brand’s core S500 watch architecture as chosen by multiple military units and explorers all over the world.

The mechanical chronometer has an open sapphire backed 500m water resistant case, helium release valve, anti-shock vibration mount and scratch resistant sapphire uni-directional bezel. In short this is a watch that has been tested to the extremes.

The Waterman’s development saw it undergo a gruelling testing regime by the Bremont team and world-renowned free-diver, adventurer, big wave surfer and ocean environmentalist Mark Healey. In particular special focus was concentrated in ensuring the new Supermarine 500 sapphire crystal case back technology stood up to nature’s uncontrollable forces, something Healey has countless experience of.

“Anytime you step into the ocean you are in an environment that is completely uncontrolled by humans” Healey explains. Encountering his fair share of close calls from shark attacks to blackouts, Healey thrives in the dangers associated in his line work.

Whilst not everyone may spend their 9-5 fending of a great white shark, riding the biggest waves in the world or exploring the broader culture of the world’s greatest oceans, the Bremont Waterman is a still a watch people can resonate with as articulated by Healey himself.

“I really identify with Bremont’s commitment to design, function and durability. This piece is just as at home four atmospheres under the sea as it is at a black-tie affair. A well-made timepiece is the only thing that stays with you on your greatest adventures, as well as through civilised life. To me it’s a reminder of who you are and where you’ve been; a constant and reliable item in a dynamic life.”

Bremont’s Co-Founder, Nick English reinforces Healey’s sentiment. “We have a reputation for making incredibly tough and functional dive watches which are all tested intensively by the military and explorers alike, the Bremont Waterman is no exception.”

As is common from the Bremont team, there is a wider more poignant story behind the British brand’s watch releases. The Bremont Waterman is no different. Designed to celebrate life above and below the water, Bremont and Healey were keen to support a charity close to each other’s hearts – ‘Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii’.

With over 5 trillion pieces of plastic currently littering our oceans a percentage of proceeds from all Bremont Waterman sales will go towards protecting our ocean’s legacy. The all-purpose Limited Edition diving watch hopes to add to the increasing awareness of the issues that our oceans are facing across the globe.

With the largest ocean garbage patch located between Hawaii and California, solving the impact mankind is having on our own ecosystem requires a combination of addressing the source and cleaning up what we have already deposited into our oceans.

Formed in 2010, ‘Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii’ is a grassroots, local non-profit organisation run by a small team of dedicated staff and supported by passionate volunteers. The charity inspires local communities to care for their coastlines through fun, hands-on beach clean-ups as well as coordinating educational programmes, team building corporate clean-ups, ocean plastic recycling, waste diversion services and public awareness campaigns.
